Just in time for the Holidays, the delicious Chocolate Molten Cake offers a simple treat for chocolate lovers. Whether you're hosting friends, family, or simply enjoying a special night in, the Chocolate Molten Cake is a quick and straightforward dessert that you can whip up quickly. The Chocolate Molten Cake takes just under half an hour to prepare and makes 4 servings. This recipe has been designed by chef Claudia Bianchi for Le Creuset and the Le Creuset 0.3L Mini Heart Cocotte. 

Ingredients

  • 6oz (170g) bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 2oz (57g) semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) unsalted butter, cut into pieces, plus extra for greasing ramekins
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup (375ml) icing sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1ml) salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F (218C)
  2. Grease ramekins with extra butter
  3. Melt both chocolates and measured butter in microwave or double broiler
  4. Add flour and sugar to the chocolate mixture
  5. Stir in the eggs, egg yolks, vanilla and salt
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the ramekins
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 14 minutes, serve warm
